Dr Godfrey Town gave a talk at the Medical Devices Expert Forum at the European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology conference (EADV) on 11th October 2019 in Madrid. His lecture ‘Update on home-use device standards and regulations' considered the likely impact of the new EU Medical Device Regulations on laser and intense light source users, manufacturers and distributors. Dr Godfrey Town has been appointed Senior Research Fellow Ph.D., Department of Dermatology, Aalborg University Hospital, Aalborg, Denmark where he plans to assist Clinical Professor of Dermatology Peter Bjerring MD, Dr.Sci., Department of Clinical Medicine at Aalborg University Hospital to build a new dermatological research area with collaboration with other specialities. Godfrey will make his ‘Core of knowledge’ laser and IPL safety courses available to post-graduates and assist in collaborative efforts to introduce new specialist courses in cutaneous light-based therapy to the department....

Our Online Laser Training International Programme Director, Dr Godfrey Town was re-certified on 1st May 2018 by RPA 2000 for a further five years to act as a Laser Protection Adviser (LPA) under the Care Standards Act 2000 (Wales & Northern Ireland) and as required in England by councils with unitary powers who regulate service providers using lasers and intense light sources. These jurisdictions in England include London, Essex and Nottinghamshire. Dr Godfrey Town Ph.D attended the 18th World Congress of IMCAS in Paris recently. He co-chaired a scientific session with Dr Christine Dierickx a key opinion leader in the world of laser and IPL hair removal.
