Laser and Intense Pulsed Light Physics & Safety ‘Core of Knowledge’ Certificate (NCEA)

This independently accredited foundation course is a vital first step to complete before attempting to work with laser or intense pulsed light (IPL) radiation.

It is a legal obligation in some jurisdictions that a Laser Physics & Safety course from a recognized or approved trainer is provided as a requirement of employment and/or licensing.

Typically, Laser and Intense Pulsed Light Physics and Safety takes 2 – 5 days to complete working part-time, with a four-week maximum duration.

Distance learning offers more choices and more control over what, when, where and how you learn. You can schedule your learning to meet your personal circumstances—fitting it around existing work and domestic commitments and working at your own pace to complete each unit of learning.
Workbooks and training videos are provided, which you can play-back multiple times and they can be viewed on a desk-top computer, laptop, tablet or iPhone/Android before taking a series of multiple-choice quizzes at the end of each lesson.


Language competence

All candidates enrolled in courses provided by Online Laser Training must be proficient in spoken and written English, comprehension and expression, with particular emphasis on reading ability. These courses include technical instructions, advice and recommendations. The ability to understand and follow these will be crucial to a successful completion of the courses and fitness to practice autonomously as a laser therapist and be responsible for safe, person-centered care.

If English is not a first language, then there is an expectation that learners have at absolute minimum, passes in reading ability from the language programs listed below, or equivalent, in order to successfully undertake these courses:
• IELTS Life Skills Speaking and Listening (At B1 level)
• IELTS General Training (Minimum band score 5.5)
