Distance learning offers you an alternative to attending expensive face-to-face training and allows you to complete courses at a time that is convenient to you and at a pace best-suited to your learning speed. All you need is to be a fairly competent reader and have access to a computer and the internet.
Q: How is my course work assessed?
Laser Physics and Safety “Core of Knowledge - User Level 4” course work is all completed online and assessed in sections by multiple-choice questions. You can only progress to the next unit once you have achieved an acceptable pass in the previous section.
Q: Will I receive an official, signed certificate?
Yes, after your course is successfully completed, you will be sent an accredited certificate from our awarding body, Open College Network (OCN Credit4Learning) and a certificate indicating Contact Hours granted by AestheticMed Consulting International LLC, provider #16575, approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
Q: Why do I need a certificate indicating successful completion of education and training?
a) Professional organizations, Standards of Practice, along with some State Regulations and Licensing Boards require that the person performing lasers and/or intense light sources have enough training, knowledge and experience to carry out their treatments safely and competently.
b) It is an increasing requirement of employers and insurers that Users of lasers and IPLs provide current evidence of a specific number of hours/units of education.
c) In most states, Professional License renewal demands demonstration of a specific number of units of certified education in the form of “Contact Hours/Units”.

OCN Credit4Learning is a United Kingdom-based educational charity that externally moderates our courses, which are quality assured and in turn mapped to national standards.
